After an extensive property review we embarked upon a phased refurbishment of the 2nd floor, Walton Court Building. The project encompassed 4000 sq metres of existing office space in a listed building. The requirement was to house a new Human Resources Organisation for the Unilever Group, a Staff Restaurant and the UK National Management Team.
Constructive worked closely with Unilever’s design team to ensure that each project met the stringent specifications of the brief. We provided management contracting, which involved: mechanical & electrical works, lighting, partitions, specialist joinery, raised floors, floor coverings, restaurant & toilet facilities.

The centralisation of Human Resources into one location, meant that it was essential that this team environment should be able to operate as efficiently and effectively as possible. Unilever wanted to dramatically change the way in which they worked and the environment provides a variety of work settings, bookable meeting rooms, training rooms and a colourful and dynamic place for team meetings and touchdown space for visitors.
Staff Restaurant
Constructive created a state of the art self service restaurant facility with 200 covers. This included theatre cooking, hot and cold meals, drinks and a specialist area for themed cookery events. The restaurant caters for all staff at Walton Court and is also attractive for visitor use.
UK National Management
This was the most recent phase of the refurbishment; this space was to reflect the world-class status of the group. The Facility included open office space, meeting room suites and a futuristic conference centre.
The open plan environment provides a variety of work settings from bookable space to informal areas for meetings of all types. Staff found their environment a dynamic and attractive place to work. We enjoy an ongoing relationship with Unilever and continue to upgrade the building.
