Hosking & Co. chose a unique but complicated site, sandwiched behind the National Gallery and located above a hotel, for their new workspace.
They wanted a brighter, lighter, cleaner environment than the space gave them when they took possession. The equity partners each had a vision which included classical contemporary fixtures and fittings that would last the test of time and be a long-term investment – with a wow factor.
Constructive Space delivered solutions and designs that met a varied, evolving brief against a very tight timescale – 4 months from start to finish.
Located on the Upper First Floor, the space was compromised with limited views to the street and no direct sunlight. Substantial work, including removing and replacing ceilings, adjusting and renewing the AC and re-cladding all of the perimeter cladding to the radiators, alongside the usual refurbishment programme was undertaken.
Innovative use of veneers, laminates, stone floor finishes, faceted glass walls were introduced to lift the space within the reception and client meeting rooms. And, the use of modest but effective finishes and furniture were contrasted with classic furniture and products from Knoll and Vitra. The end result is an office interior that achieved their exacting brief.
