Orri
The Brief
Orri is the UK’s first intensive Day Treatment service dedicated to Eating Disorders.
Orri’s brief was out of the ordinary for Constructive Space, with them requiring their newly acquired London town-house to be transformed into a clinical haven for patients to visit and tackle their eating disorders.
A design and build which met the highest standards of CQC was paramount to the successful opening of this specialist centre.
The Solution
Constructive Space worked alongside CQC experts and medical professionals to ensure requirements were met. Everything had to be carefully considered to mitigate visitors from the opportunity to self-harm in any way. This meant works to the staircase, changing all furnishings and fittings and installing panic alarms were needed, to name a few.
As the work Orri provides is centred around eating disorders, a full, industrial-grade therapy kitchen was carefully designed and installed on the lower-ground floor for the chefs.
An all but ignored small outdoor patio area was completely transformed into an outside seating area, complete with a bespoke conservatory glass roof.
The Solution
Large amounts of electrical works took place in the building. All new lighting, access control and CCTV were fitted.
With it being such an old building, unexpected structural issues were encountered along the way. Constructive worked with structural engineers to put right problems which could have led to further headaches in the future.
The 5-storey building features 12 group and individual therapy rooms, staff office space, showers and yoga studio.
With the help of Constructive Space, Orri now have the premises to go forward as the UK’s leading eating disorder treatment service in the UK.
