Constructive Space for MS Trust Golf Day
On the 5th July 2017, we hosted our annual golf day, this time in support of the MS Trust.
With “Sober for October” and “Veganuary” already behind us, this event was our final big push to break our audacious £10,000 target.
The venue was the Addington Golf Club. Home to a fine course designed by John Frederick Abercromby in 1913. With a clear sky, as it was on the day, the course offers spectacular views of the metropolis.
The early start gave us ample time to ready up for the day. Tea, coffee and bacon sandwiches were served upon arrival.
Once signed in, each golfer was given a Constructive Space goody bag, complete with branded golf balls in which we hoped too many wouldn’t get lost. Then again, other golfers finding our golf balls in the rough? Free marketing?

The Constructive Space team led the way, teeing off at 9am from the 1st hole. Staggered starts allowed the following teams to warm up on the clubhouse putting green before heading out for the biggest sporting event of all time.

With everyone out on the course under the blue skies and in the searing heat, the real heroes of the day had to step in. Nick (CS Sales Development Manager), Emma Holbrook (MS Trust Representative) and I took to the buggy, delivering beer and water where needed. Congratulations to Mike Bird for winning the unofficial reward for “Thirstiest Golfer”.

Around 3pm, the golfing was slowly coming to an end and the golfers made their way back to the clubhouse for a much needed cold shower and a compulsory visit to the bar. Lunch was served. Seasonal melon and parma ham to start, followed by chicken in white wine sauce and finished with rhubarb crumble. Our resident vegan, Nick, obviously opted out of the chicken and instead, at least what it looked like to me, was slop on a plate. (May have been cous cous).
Entertainment followed with a superb set from comedian Ian Richards. Poking fun at clients may not be the most intelligent move, but it was all good fun.
Ian also hosted the auction which followed immediately after. There were some great items up for grabs, including a voucher for 2 at Europe’s best Chinese restaurant, the China Tang and a signed Harry Kane shirt, a player for Europe’s worst football team. A massive thanks is due to our wonderfully generous guests.
With the scores tallied and the anticipation building, it was time to reward the top 3 teams with their prizes.
It was our clients, Sunset and Vine, who came out on top, taking home a Taylor Made Monte Carlo putter each. The golfers of the 2nd and 3rd place teams each won a Cleveland Wedge and a Sun Mountain travel cover respectively.

Overall it was a fantastic day, and its been lovely hearing all the positive feedback coming in from our guests.
Without forgetting the most important thing, this was all in aid of our wonderful charity of the year, the MS Trust.
The MS Trust do so much great work for thousands suffering from Multiple Sclerosis and it has been an absolute honour helping the charity over the past year. We’re very proud to say we have now smashed our £10,000 target. A special thanks goes to Emma Holbrook, who was with us on the day helping with just about everything and has been an enormous help in all our fundraising schemes.
Finally, thank you to directors of Constructive Space, Terry Froud and Dan Jones for making this all possible!
